I’m back in Japan since July 3, 2012. Begins a new adventure and I want to share it with you. Here are my goals and my program.
May 6, 2011, I arrived in Japan for the first time. After a year there, as part of a working holiday visa for Japan, I left this country to go to France and Tunisia, for 2 months. The purpose of this return to France was to obtain a new visa for Japan: the student visa.
Studying Japanese for 2 years
Since July 3, 2012 I am back in Tokyo, for two years minimum. The primary purpose of this stay of two years is to study the Japanese at a language school.
Remember, for those who follow me since the beginning of my Nippon adventures, I did not speak a word of Japanese when I arrived in the archipelago. In fact, even today I do not speak it, or very little.
Basically, I had to spend a year in Japan. My program was to consist of two periods:
- A 9-month period to work in Tokyo and learn the local language
- A period of three months to travel across Japan
Yes but now, very quickly, I realized that if I did not speak Japanese, I will miss many things during my stay. And I therefore, decided to change my program and return to Japan for 2 years to learn Japanese.
My ultimate goal is to reach at least level 2 of the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) level corresponding to a “business”. So I have two years to reach this level. After will come the second part of my trip to Japan.
A tour of Japan on foot for at least one year
After learning Japanese, I would discover this country, its beauties and curiosities. I would go to the contact of its people, talk, learn and discover. Something intrigues me in this country. I am not fascinated but just curious and want to continue the discoveries.
Needing a new form of adventure and challenges, after completing a world tour since November 2009, I thought it was the opportunity to try something new.
This is why I decided to undertake a walking tour of Japan starting October 2014 or January 2015 (date to be determined later). The goal is to take my time, according to my wishes and travel up to discover things and people.
I will make you live my next Japanese years (2 years of language study in school and a year travel on foot in the country) through my blog.

A Gaijin in Japan: the blog to follow me
As I have done in the past, I would continue to share my adventures with you, my discoveries, my desires, the things I like and the things I like less or don’t like.
Now, I would share my adventures, my stories, my photos, tips and anything else that I would like to share or you would like to discover.
As of October 2012, I will start to go in a Language School in Tokyo to learn Japanese. From that same month, I would start telling you about my preparations for my tour of Japan on foot, via a category of articles that will be dedicated.
This blog, I created several months ago, is intended to allow me to share my discoveries with you. I love to read your comments, share with you, talk, learn and discover.
So I would continue to share with you Japan as I discover it every day, the Japan I see through my eyes, the Japan that we know or we do not know, thoughts and analysis on Japan, Japanese men and Japanese women I meet through my adventures and much more.
If you want me to address certain issues, to discuss certain topics or even if you have any feedback or comments, I’ll let you express yourself as usual.
Stay tuned for new adventures.

Welcome back and all that.
